Volunteer Opportunities
Market Location: 5299 E University, Pleasant Hill, IA, just 2.5 miles north of the Iowa state Fairgrounds on University.

Days of Operation: Every Monday from June 2nd - Aug. 25th. Volunteers do not have to volunteer for the full season but we do ask that they sign up for a minimum of one month.

Volunteer at The Market: Each year, the Community Farmers Market counts on the help of volunteers to not only sustain but make the market better. ​

Volunteer FAQ: How old do volunteers need to be? Volunteers need to be 16 years of age or older.
​
What tasks can volunteers help with? Volunteers can help with a variety of tasks, including:
- Set up: tents, tables and chairs prior to The Market (2:30-4:00pm)
- Information booth: Answer questions and assist guest (shift #1 4:00-5:30, shift #2 5:30-7:00)
- Parking attendants: (shift #1 4:00-5:30, shift #2 5:30-7:00)
- Golf Cart shuttle Driver (must be 21 years of age and have a valid drivers license): (shift #1 2:30-5:30, shift #2 5:30-7:30).
- Tear down: tents, tables and chairs at the conclusion of The Market (7:00-8:00pm)

Do volunteers receive anything for their time? Volunteers may receive a t-shirt.
Why do people volunteer? People offer their time for several reasons:
- They want to get involved behind the scenes.
- Earn volunteer hours for silver cord and other programs with requirements.
- Use VTO time for work.
- Team building with work, church and other groupsInteract with the public, customer service and helping others.
